“Nobody Regrets Qualifying Out”
Initially, a phrase I coined to encourage salespeople that qualifying out was not something they’d regret doing.
Either they were right, and the opportunity wasn’t worth pursuing, or qualifying out would correct the customer’s behavior and result in them treating the engagement with more respect.
But as time has gone on, I’ve noticed the maxim applies to much more than just sales.
I’ve not regretted qualifying out of parties I didn’t want to go to.
I’ve not regretted qualifying out of ‘friendships’ I felt weren’t genuine.
I’ve not regretted qualifying out of a job with a bad manager.
What have you not regretted qualifying out of?
